Growing up in a family steeped in farming history, Casey Owings is a third generation farmer of the Owings and Sons farm operation based in Millington, Maryland. During the early years of their Kent County farm, the Owings family raised hogs, ran a spinach packing operation and raised alfalfa in addition to grains. When Casey took over in 2009, he shifted operations to produce solely corn, wheat and soybeans.

Today, with farmland under production in Kent and Queen Anne and Caroline Counties, Owings and Sons operates with the philosophy of maximizing production efficiency while recognizing that conservation is equally as important to success. Leveraging the latest technology and conservation tillage practices allows Casey to farm with efficiency, while at the same time improve the productive qualities of farmland.

Owings and Sons plants, manages, and harvests all crops. This ensures Casey complete control over how his crops are raised and how the land is managed. Casey and his team of employees run the equipment as well as operate their own fleet of trucks for hauling. During the growing season Casey works with, and relies on, the expertise of private crop consultants for the care of the crops that he is raising.

From operations to agronomy, Casey maintains a comprehensive and proactive approach to farming, stacking the deck in his favor for a successful growing season.
